The Cloud Town, known as the origin of the first featured town in Zhejiang Province, occupied a planning area of 8.9 square kilometers and the core area of 3.5 square kilometers. In 2013, the Cloud Town initiated a strategic cooperation with Aliyun. Updated on the traditional industrial park, the Cloud Town accelerates the process of transforming and upgrading traditional industry to high-tech ones, which based on cloud computing and data industry.
With the mode of ‘government guiding, famous enterprise leading, entrepreneurs acting’, the Cloud Town is projected to build the first town of digital economy and and drive digital economy development. Within five years, the Cloud Town plans to achieve an output valued over 30billion RMB and 2billion RMB in revenue on cloud computing and other related industries by attracting thousands of enterprises and teams from all walks and life.
In order to provide innovative and entrepreneurial service for small and medium-sized enterprises, the Cloud Town will focus on encouraging big companies to share their core technology, and constructing innovative ecological circle of ‘pasture of innovation, nursery of industries, and Eden of science and technology’. Meanwhile, for the purpose of promoting development of featured industries, the Cloud Town also follows the ecology of Aliyun, satellite cloud, IoT chips, intelligent hardware innovation closely by introducing high-end information industry projects related to cloud computing and big data.
The Cloud Town Computing Conference, the icon of global high-end computing industry, is held in the Cloud Town annually, which used to be known as Aliyun Developer Conference. In 2013, it was held in the Cloud Town and then settled down here permanently. It has been renamed The Cloud Town Computing Conference in 2015. Being an epitome of the development of the Cloud Town, the conference not only preserves the cultural connotation of the town industry and innovation and entrepreneurship, but also be considered a full-scale conference which share the highest level of cloud computing technology with developers all over the world.
By 2018, the Cloud Town has absorbed over 1061 enterprises from various fields. Among them 788 are related to cloud computing, covering cloud computing, big data, APP development, game development, internet finance and so on. A mature ecology of cloud computing industry has been preliminary established in the town.
